Lucia Lute, 90, went home to heaven on January 10, 2015.
She was born in Naples, Italy on May 22, 1924 to the late Joseph and Concetta Ricco. Lucia met her husband, Donald, a marine serving in WWII, in Italy and came to the US as a war bride when she was 22 years old. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and served as a volunteer at Akron Children's Hospital for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her sister, Lillian; and brother, Marcello. Survivors include children, Marilyn (Randy Beck) May, Ed (Holly Knapp), and Connie Miller; grandchildren, Jeff (Theresa) May, Shelly Carter, Dr. James Miller, Nicholas Miller, and Brandon Lute; and great-grandchildren, Anthony, Taylor, Luke, Kade, Maverick, Mayzie, and Connor.
Calling hours will be Thursday, 4-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
