Lonnie Mitchell Jr. ( Pops) (Brother), 65, of Akron, passed away on November 4, 2015. He was born on March 4, 1950, Daytona Beach, Florida to Lonnie and Rosetta Mitchell. Lonnie was a an avid fisherman and a great dancer. He served his country in the U.S. Coast Guards. Pops graduated from South High School in 1969. He was known for his good cooking skills.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Rosetta Mitchell and his aunt Sarah B. Reynolds.
Lonnie is survived by his children, Lonnie Mitchell-Kendricks, LaMar Mitchell-Kendricks and Lionel (Twa'Nysha) Mitchell; brother leaves to mourn his sister, Linda R (Theion) Feaster; the love of his life (Rum Cake), Dianne Hughes of Akron, OH; brother, Larry D. Mitchell; step-daughter, Rhonda Hughes; 8 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews , cousins and friends who will dearly miss him.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 10:00 am. to11:00 am. at Livingstone Apostolic Church, 587 S. Arlington St. Akron, Ohio 44306 with Bishop Ronald L. Higginbottom officiating. Funeral service will follow.
Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
