Loman A. Ash, 86, of Akron, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012. He was born on January 10, 1926 in Alma, WV to the late Merle (nee Johnston) and Peter Ash. Loman married Dorothy M. Bamonte in Akron nearly 65 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army, Company D, 399th Infantry, 100th Division during WWII, stationed in Belgium, France and Germany, and retired from Tastee Bread formerly American Bakery. "Grandpa Loman" was crazy about his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he loved spending time with.
Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nila, Texana, and Hope; brother, Joseph. Survived by loving wife, Dorothy; daughters, Patricia (Ronald) Toth, Carolyn (Jon) Wnoroski; grandchildren, Steven (Michelle), Joseph (Lori), Jennifer (Pete), Mary, and Patti; great-grandchildren, Angela, Alec, Sara, Abby, Athena, and Sophia; brothers, Lorn and Dorman (Martha); sisters, Munice (Paul) Flesher, Montana (Donald) Thomas, Una Henderson, Faith Baker, and Charity (Larry) Hadley; many loving brothers/sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Judy Belles for the care and love she provided Loman for many years. Our family is also grateful for the care offered by Deanne Osbourne.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 433 Mission Dr, Akron, OH 44301. Friends may call one hour prior to the mass at the church. Final resting place will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the CYO Adult Daycare Center, 812 Biruta St, Akron, OH 44307 where Loman loved to be or charity of your choice.
