Lois G. Manthe
Lois G. Manthe, 75, of Akron, passed away September 28, 2014. Lois was born in Newcomerstown, OH on April 19, 1939 to the late Ronzel and Lillian Owens. Lois spent many years cleaning for others. She was a subcontractor for Snavely Group in Cleveland cleaning new construction homes. She also cleaned homes and cared for many elderly people and formed long lasting friendships. She also worked for Ferriot Bros. Lois took great care with her health and was knowledgeable about herbs and vitamins. In her younger years, she enjoyed racing cars at the Barberton Speedway with her former husband, Bill. She was very proud of having met Evel Knievel. She attended both Grace Baptist Church and The Chapel.
Lois had many friends, but was closest to her sister, Cathy and nephew, Eric. Lois, Cathy, and Eric loved spending time together.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Lee Owens. She will be deeply missed by her son, Steve Manthe; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Mike Arters; nephew, Eric Arters; former husband and friend. Bill Manthe. She also leaves many good friends including Susan, Niky, and Sue.
Family and friends may call Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Stephens officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
