Linda Zielinski, 75, of Akron, passed away on October 2, 2025. Linda was born and raised in Lakemore and attended Springfield Local Schools. She spent many years as a photographer with Sears Portrait Studio, a role that took her across the Midwest.
Linda had a remarkable gift for artistry, often found sketching pet portraits that showcased her love for animals and her keen eye for detail. Her creativity extended beyond the canvas and into her hands, as she found joy in crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that warmed the hearts of those around her.
Among her many passions, breeding and showing English Cocker Spaniels held a special place in Linda's heart. Her dedication to her dogs was unparalleled, and their numerous awards brought her immense pride. The bond she formed with her “Dog Show Family” was a testament to the love and support they offered one another throughout the years. Friends like Rita Kepner, Shelley Hysong, Marge and Jennifer Ritch, Jena Lamp, Marti Strohm, Art Sample, Linda Fusco, Michelle Gannon, and many others were cherished companions in her life journey.
Linda is also survived by her loving sister, Betty Kittinger; devoted nephews and caregivers, Brian Taylor and Steve Bodey; her sister-in-law, Diane Taylor; her beloved dog, Minnie; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Zielinski; parents, Frank and Caroline Taylor; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Kathy Taylor; brothers, Robert “Harpo” Taylor and Raymond “Skeeter” Taylor; and her brother-in-law, John Kittinger.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date, with details to follow.
