Listen to Obituary

Linda Kathryn Palmer, born on July 21, 1945, in Barberton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and the profound impact she had on the lives of those who knew her.

Linda had a passion for life that was evident in her wide array of interests. She was an avid supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes and all Cleveland sporting teams. She loved to spend her days on the phone with her sister Judy talking about aliens, UFOs, conspiracy theories, and weather. Her love for the arts shone through in her fondness for crocheting, as she crafted beautiful pieces that brought warmth to her family and friends. An avid reader and lover of puzzles, Linda found joy in the challenges these activities provided, often sharing her discoveries and completed works with those around her.

Family was at the heart of Linda’s life. She nurtured close relationships with her children, Laurie Rawlings, Douglas Palmer (Beth), and Kathryn Palmer, always putting their needs and happiness first. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Tyler Rawlings (Shailyn), Grant Palmer, and Bryan Palmer (Mea), as well as her great-granddaughter, Emery Rawlings and Raevyn, as well as great-grandson Seirys who brought her immense joy. Linda also enjoyed deep connections with her nephew, Scott Wood (Sue), and her niece, Debi Swan (Derek).

Beyond her family ties, Linda maintained a strong engagement with her community and the world around her through her political interests, always staying informed and active in discussions that mattered to her. A well-loved presence, she also found satisfaction in her home, where she enjoyed cleaning, baking, and cooking—sharing delightful meals and treats with her loved ones.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. Palmer Jr.; her parents, Woodrow (Burdena) Groff; her sister, Judy Wood (William); and her son, Harry F. Palmer III, as well as her son-in-law, Donald Rawlings. They are missed dearly but will remain in the hearts of those who remember the love and moments shared.

Her contributions to her family, her passions, and her kindness will forever be cherished. A visitation will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron, OH, on March 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather in remembrance of Linda’s remarkable life and legacy.

Linda Kathryn Palmer's life was a testament to love, dedication, and a spirit that engaged with the world in a meaningful way. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and connection that will endure in the lives she touched.
