Linda Dianne Meier

Linda D. Meier (nee Basile), age 77 passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday January 27, 2026. Born September 23, 1948, in Brimfield, Ohio to the late James (Mitch) and Doris (nee Ruby) Basile.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne Meier and brother-in-law Greg Meloy.

Linda is survived by her sister Joan Meloy and brother James Basile; nieces Cynthia (Jody) Waldner, Julie (Jeff) Marchion and Michelle (Ray) Basile; great nephews Kyle (Ashley) Waldner, Jeff and Greg Marchion; great nieces Valerie Kemple, Mikayla Zagar, Lidiya and Lexi Lemmon; great-great nieces and nephew Isabelle, Kiera, Grace Kemple, Emma Waldner, Caiden Kemple; and numerous cousins, family and friends in the greater family.

Linda leaves behind a lifetime of shenanigans, friendships, and stories that defined her so well. She grew into a woman known for her spunk, laughter, and caring heart.

A special thank you to her caregivers and staff at GentleBrook Homestead of Hartville for taking great care of her. The family appreciates your kindness, grace, and compassion.

Visitation will be held Sunday February 1st from 11 AM- 2PM at Newcomer Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin promptly at 2 PM. Final resting place is Restland Cemetery in Brimfield, private for family on Wednesday at 1 PM.
