Lettie I. Whitaker

Lettie I. Whitaker, 95, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 5, 2017. She was born on November 7, 1921 in Akron, Ohio to Ray and Frances Klink. Lettie retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 40 years of service. She was an active member of Lakemore Methodist Church for many years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Lettie was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Whitaker.

She is survived by children, Connie (Jim) Johnson, Sherry Miller; grandchildren, Traci and Tim Miller, Brian (Christy) Johnson, Laura Hewitt Johnson; great grandchildren, Cody Yeager, Taylor Abbe, Tyson Texter, Gage Miller, Marissa Johnson, Stephanie Hewitt, Carolyn Thomas, Lisa Lachmaier; 4 great-great grandchildren, special nephew Rick Boosinger.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home,131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio 44305. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Joseph Serbin officiating.

She will be laid to rest at 11a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017, Hillside Memorial Park.
