Leonard L. Pirri, 65, passed away on January 31st, 2026, after a sharp decline from Alzheimer’s. He fought health issue after health issue for the last 30 years and is finally at rest. We would like extend a special thank you to the staff at Serenity Hospice for the care and support they have offered in this difficult time.
Born in Akron, Ohio to Victor Pirri and Mary Pirri (née Naugle) on October 12, 1960, he attended Akron primary schools and graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1979. Through his lifetime he worked as a truck driver, a snow plow driver, and a machinist. He medically retired from Meggitt Aircraft Breaking Systems in 2009.
Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mary Pirri and in-laws, Kenneth and Eleanor Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Margaret Pirri (née Jones), daughters, Sarah (Matt) Eiseman and Sydni (Austin Norris) Pirri, grandsons, Payton and Gavin Eiseman, brother, Victor (Carol) Pirri, twin sister, Linda (Kenny) Sallaz, and close friends, Jason (Ann Marie) Fenske, Jim (Cindy) Anderson, and Mike (Christine) Fowler, along with many other cherished family members and friends. He’s also survived by his faithful companion, his kitty, Graycie Mae.
Leonard was a story teller and a jokester. He never shied away from being the butt of a joke if it was going to make someone he cared about laugh. He would frequently say, after making someone new laugh, “they will never forgot me!” He was right, he was an unforgettable person. Leonard had many joys in life, but first and foremost he was a gear-head. He grew up rebuilding Harley Davidson Motorcycles with his dad. He worked on many vehicles over the years, but he was always happiest when his wife and daughters were in the garage with him, even if the 30 minute job inevitably turned into an 3 hour job…or even a 3 day job.
After a fire destroyed his garage in 2015, he rebuilt it into his dream garage. Though he didn’t get nearly enough time to enjoy it as much as he deserved, he loved it. If you had the privilege of knowing Leonard, you’d know his love for Mopar and Motorcycles. Throughout his lifetime, he worked on thousands of vehicles and went to endless car shows, swap-meets, and motorcycles rallies. He was a man with a bit of a temper, but also the biggest heart. He was “super dad” to his daughters and never got upset about things like traffic tickets, or ”driving awards” as he liked to call them. He was very proud to be the one who taught his daughters to drive, the first and most important skill was how to do a burnout. As his life came closer to the end, he’d lost most of his physical abilities, which meant he was no longer able to work in his garage. So, as his family, we hope he’s enjoying the smell of the exhaust from a Mopar and is able to work on any vehicle he dreams of with his dad at his side.
Burn that rubber, dad, tires can be replaced.
We love you forever.
