Leonard J. Davies
Leonard J. Davies went home to be with Jesus on July 17, 2014. He was born September 14, 1922 in Burlington, Iowa to the late James and Sarah Davies. He was preceded in death by daughter baby girl Davies; grandson, Jason Lamb; son-in-law, Dan Barnhart; and loving wife of 52 years, Dorothy. Together Leonard and Dorothy had seven children.
Leonard spent his life serving the Lord and his family. He owned L.J. Davies Construction where he worked alongside his two sons and son-in-law. Leonard loved nothing more than seeing his family together enjoying each other's company. He loved fishing, his dogs, old hymns, children's laughter, reading his Bible, Dairy Queen Blizzard, and spending time tinkering in his shop.
He will be missed by sons, Tim (Joan) and Jim (Patti); daughters, Renee (Glen) Walker, Dorene Barnhart, Joy Armstrong, and Sue (Rod) Harris; sisters, Molly Martin and Ruth (Al) Audin; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 10-12 followed by a 12:00 noon funeral service with his grandson, Pastor Jamie Walker officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
