Leona Learn, age 94, of Tallmadge, Ohio, passed away September 14, 2016 at 10:46 AM at her home. Leona was born in Akron, Ohio, on October 17, 1921 to the late Victor A. and Maude Pearl Workman Roth.
Leona retired after 5 years of service from the Tallmadge City School System working in the cafeteria. She also worked at Goodyear Aerospace during WWII. First and foremost, Leona was a homemaker, taking care of her husband and seven children.
Mrs. Learn liked to crochet, play cards, board games, and jigsaw puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell Lewis Learn, on December 20, 1999, they were united in marriage on May 4, 1946 ; her stillborn daughter, Susan Elizabeth Learn; one grandson, Geoffrey Douglas Coast; and 4 siblings.
Survivors include her children, Margaret "Peg" Ann (Greg) Kingan, Mary Jane Scruggs, Tom Richard (Jeanne) Learn, Don Russell (Patty) Learn, Nancy Sue (Don) DeLapa, Janet Lou (Stephen) McNutt, and Tammy Lynn Learn; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside memorial service at Lakewood Cemetery, Akron, Ohio on Monday, September 19 at 2:00 p.m.
