Lawrence M. (Larry) Lux
Larry passed away suddenly on 27 Nov 2014. Larry was born 29 June 1939 in Akron, Ohio to the late Elizabeth and Raymond Lux. Larry attended St Mary's High School in Akron where he was an altar boy and graduated with the class of 1957. Larry was extremely proud of his service with the U.S. Marines 1962-1967 and retired from Akron Shim & Gasket in 2010. Larry was a member of the Mogadore Moose lodge, member of Masonic Order for 27 years; he was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Stow Lodge #2223, member of the Blue Lodge, the Scottish Rite. Larry was a devoted Catholic.
Larry's passions included: beach vacations and cruises with his wife Judy, family gatherings, Cleveland Indians baseball, Ohio State Football, woodworking, an avid pool player and bowler, gardening, Saturday night dancing at the Eagles Club of North Canton, walks with his wife and beloved pet "Baby". Larry will be remembered for his sense of humor.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister Flo and brother in-law Jack McCarthy. He leaves behind to cherish his memory Judy his loving wife of 32 years who was the love of his life; children, Chip, Michael (Laurie Ann), Vickie; grandchildren; Brooke, Beau ( Jacquelynn), TJ, Ashley (Jason) , Tyler, Michael and Maddie; great-grandchildren, Presley, Zoe, Ty, and J. Oliver.
Calling hours will be Wednesday 3 December 5-8 PM with a Masonic service at 7:30 PM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Calling hours will be Thursday 4 December at Newcomer Funeral Home from 10-11 AM followed by an 11 AM funeral service. Following the funeral service, military honors will be conducted by Firestone VFW 3383.
