Lawrence John Skinner, 72, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2026. Born in Akron, Ohio to James and Violet (Emigh) Skinner, he resided in Uniontown for the past 40 years. Larry was a talented machinist who was dedicated to teaching at Akron Machining Institute and later retired from Loral Aircraft Braking Systems. He enjoyed fishing, grilling, any handywork imaginable, and spending time with his family. In his later years he found the most joy in his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Skinner; son, Mathew Skinner; mother-in-law, Agnes Bressler; sister, Shirley Fleming. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Irene; children, Danielle (Craig) Roberts, Kevin (Erica) Skinner; grandchildren, Austin, Logan, Aiden, Lacey, Paisley; father-in-law, Jake Bressler; siblings, Jim Skinner, Wendy Case, Shelley Semelsberger; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Everyone is invited to the viewing Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. A celebration of Larry's life will take place Wednesday, April 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harmony Springs Event Center, 3891 S. Arlington Rd., Uniontown, OH. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Larry's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
