Laura Oliver

Laura Oliver, 71, of Akron, passed away November 28, 2014. Laura was born in Goodwater, Alabama on August 16, 1943 to the late Early and Francis Harrison. Laura retired from Kaufmann's after many years of service. Laura was a member of Great Expectations Ministries. In her free time, she volunteered at Western Reserve Hospital and enjoyed taking care of people.
In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her loving husband, James; brother, Warren L. Harrison. She is survived by son, Frederick Thompson, son, Carlos (Linda ) Thompson, daughter, Tracey (Robert) Miller, daughter, Lysa (Anthony) Thompson-Knight, and daughter, Renata (Earl) Eskridge; four sisters, five brothers, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, with Bishop Paramore and Pastor Roderick Pounds officiating. Condolences may be sent to 1066 Wilbur Ave Akron, Ohio 44301.
