Larry Heimberger, 82, of Akron, passed away on January 28, 2015. He was born in Akron on August 9, 1932 to the late Henry and Clara Heimberger. After high school, Larry worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber before serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his service, Larry worked in the rubber industry before working at the Summit County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disability for 20 years.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Ramon and Frank Heimberger; sisters, Martha McGunigal and Rita Yergin; and son, Jeff Heimberger. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Sheri (Chris) D'Avello and Jodi (Ken) Speece; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Heimberger; sister, Ruth (Tom) Wilson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends may call on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Scott officiating. Interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.
