Lane Edward Orem, Sr.

Lane Edward Orem, Sr., 81, of Akron, passed away May 17, 2014. He was born in Akron on March 1, 1933 to the late Hod and Pauline Orem. Lane served 3 years in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Air Force Reserves. He served as a police officer with the Akron Police Department for 33 years. He was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church since 1964 and the Portage Lakes Masons.
Lane is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores; children, Susan Hall, Lane E. (Victoria) Orem, Jr. and William (Nina) Orem; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Family and friends may call on Friday, May 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church, 1920 Krumroy Rd., Akron, OH 44312, where a funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Rev. Larry Baldridge officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Springfield Baptist Church.
