Kenny W. Morris

Kenny W. Morris, 76, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 19, 2026. He was born on July 23, 1950 in Akron, Ohio to James and Mallie (Adams) Morris. He grew up in Randolph, Ohio, later moving to Shalersville, Ohio and most recently to Uniontown, Ohio.

Kenny graduated from Waterloo High School in 1968. He went on to serve in the Vietnam War as a member of the US Army.

He was a big rig driver and owned his own 18-wheeler that he traveled across the country in. He also worked as a concrete driver for Horning Concrete in Kent and Stamm Concrete in Mantua.

Kenny was truly one of a kind. He had a gift for making people happy and was often the life of the party. He was a rule breaker in the best possible way. Beneath his larger-than-life personality was a genuinely kind and generous man. He was known on many occasions to buy a meal for a complete stranger, simply because he could and wanted to make someone’s day a little better.

Kenny was adored by his family, who will forever remember his wild imagination, hysterical stories and unforgettable poker parties. He loved to play poker and took great pride in teaching others to play.

Kenny had a creative side that could be seen in many of the things he enjoyed. He was a great lover of music and enjoyed listening to and supporting different bands and musicians. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he put that same creative spirit into writing and published his first book, Twin Lakes Vortex.

Kenny was an avid golfer, who in later years enjoyed playing on his own property where he could golf whenever he wanted and on his own terms. He took meticulous care of his lawn, making sure that his personal golf course was always in top shape.

Kenny also dedicated his time and energy to the community as the former president of Shalersville Hot Stove Baseball. He took great pride in working with the local youth and helping to refurbish the baseball fields. During this time, he organized dances for middle schoolers as a fundraiser for the organization, finding creative ways to bring people together supporting a cause he deeply cared about. Later in life, Kenny also played for the Babes of 1916 All-Star Ohio Men’s Senior Softball with his best friend and brother, Danny Morris.

He never knew a stranger. With Kenny, you never quite knew what was going to happen next, but you could be pretty sure it was going to be fun.

Kenny leaves behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, kindness, and memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He lived life on his own terms, made friends wherever he went, and left his mark in ways both big and small. He will be deeply missed-and knowing Kenny, he probably would have preferred we all have a good laugh while remembering him.

Kenny he was preceded in death by his late wife, Roberta (Newberger); his mother and father, Mallie and James Morris, and his brother, Danny Morris.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Susan Morris; son, Raymond Morris; step-children, Nicole (Josh) Coffield and Karen (Ben) Shellenbarger; grandchildren, Josh and Brayden Coffield, Sammy and Mirra Shellenbarger, and Lydia and Collin Parsons; brothers, James “Smokey” Morris and Christopher Morris; nieces, Autumn (Ross) Racher, Kyla Morris, Kelly Coffman, and Marlena (Rick) Bane; nephews, Darryl (Jennifer) Morris, Chris Jr. “Butch” (Scarlett) Morris, and Wade Morris; sisters-in-law, Gail Morris and Kim Cole; and many great nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, consider honoring Kenny’s memory by paying it forward and helping someone in need.

“Kenny Fest Finale,” a celebration of his life, will take place on Saturday October 24, 2026 at 5pm at the FOP Lodge No. 7, 2610 Ley Dr, Akron, OH 44319 with more details to follow.
