Kenneth L. Smith, 73, of Streetsboro, passed away on September 16, 2026. He was born in Flint, Michigan on May 19, 1953 to the late Charles and Barbara Smith, and was raised in the Stow/Hudson area.

Known to his family and friends as "Kipes", he spent his career as an HVAC technician, retiring from Echols Heating and Cooling in 2022 after over 15 years of service.

In his free time, Kipes enjoyed all manner of sports including golfing, bowling, baseball, and softball. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and never missed a game.

Kipes also enjoyed fishing and took many memorable trips to Marblehead and Key West to fish with family. He also loved camping and annual family reunions.

Kipes was a wonderful husband, an amazing father to his two daughters and "Papa" to his granddaughters and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

In addition to his parents, Kipes was preceded in death by his baby sister, Cynthia Ann Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Cathy. They married in October 1992 and were devoted to each other for over 33 years. Kipes will also be forever remembered by his loving daughters, Cynthia Ann "Cindy" Smith (Rick) and Melissa Smith; granddaughters, Amber (Jon) and Taryn; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Parker, Addisynn, and Levi; siblings, Sandy Carmer, Chuck Smith, Bob (Lisa) Smith, and Kevin (Patty) Smith; sister-in-law, Belinda (Mike) Blank; brother-in-law, Doug McKenzie; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, extended family, and good friends.

A private service will be held.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Polish American Club, 472 Glenwood Ave, Akron, Ohio 44310.
