Kenneth V. Saffles, Sr.

Kenneth V. Saffles, Sr., "Ken", age 84 of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, died on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Akron City Hospital.
He was born on January 22, 1934 in McMinnville, Tennessee, the son of the late Charles and Ethel (nee Fuller) Saffles.
Ken was a South High School graduate and worked for 44 years and retired from Goodyear as a tool and die maker. Ken enjoyed working on automobiles and ran an auto repair business after he retired. He loved to garden. Ken was a very active and outgoing guy.
Survivors include his children, Rebecca L. (John) Wood of Tipton, IN and Sharon Ingold of Cocoa, FL; his grandchildren, Sarah Heldman, Alexandra Olson, and David Ingold; his friend and caregiver, Denise Gordon; his former wife, Oleeta (nee Stinson) Saffles; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by two children, Kenneth V. Saffles, Jr. and Deborah Saffles; and his five siblings.
Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2580 Romig Road, Akron, on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:30 AM, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
