Listen to Obituary

Kenny was born on September 21, 1954, and passed away on October 15, 2026. He was born and raised in Akron, Ohio, and called the area home his entire life.

He is preceded in death and welcomed in heaven by his father Hagres Roy Nedrow, mother Rose Anne Nedrow (Nider), sisters Pamela Nedrow and Mary Beth Thomas (Nedrow), and brother Keith Nedrow. He is survived by his only child, daughter Charlotte Nedrow (Carl Beatty) of Tallmadge, Ohio; his two grandsons, Carl and Trenton Beatty of Tallmadge, Ohio; his sister Deborah Burkholder (Nedrow) of Akron, Ohio; and his brother Kevin Nedrow of Berlin, Pennsylvania.

It is impossible to adequately describe Kenny’s personality in just words. He was one of one. He was stubborn and rebellious, generous and passionate, living life on his own terms. He had a sharp wit and a calm composure. He was an avid outdoorsman, taking after his father, and an excellent cook, taking after his mother. Kenny carried himself like a man from a different time. He often wore old hunting clothes, a bandana, and either a Steelers cap or a straw cowboy hat. He smoked Newport cigarettes and drank coffee every single day. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Kenny’s passion for sports. He was always very competitive-whether it was a carp tournament or a card game, he wanted to win. He was a great baseball pitcher and had been offered many scholarships in his youth. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and could often predict who would win.

But most importantly, he loved his family. He dedicated over 20 years of his life to caring for his sister, Pamela Nedrow, and regularly gave all he could to his family to ensure that they were taken care of. Kenny will be remembered for his generosity, humor, and a unique character that is all too uncommon in the world. To know him was to love him, and he will be greatly missed.

A special thanks and appreciation to the entire nursing staff of the 5400 unit at Cleveland Clinic Akron General for the love, compassion, and care that they showed my dad in his final days.
