Kenneth J. Bergdorf

Kenneth J. Bergdorf "Butch" 61, went home to be with the Lord on December 10, 2014. Born in Akron, he graduated from Garfield High School. Ken retired from the City of Akron Water Department with 31 years of service. He was also employed at Avis/Budget Car Rental for 17 years until the failing of his health. Ken loved NASCAR, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and enjoyed bowling. He was a loving, caring person and very proud of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; Glenn and Harriet Bergdorf, and sister; Charlene Bircher. He leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife and best friend of 32 years, Linda; sister; Gloria Swigart, son; James (Kristin) Bergdorf, niece; Brenda (John) Shultz, nephews; Glenn (Stacy) Abbott, Dr. Jamie Clute and Stan Olivette, and Richard (Trina) Bircher, and a host of other family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 5-8pm and service will be held on Saturday December 13, 2014 at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron. Pastor Robert Stephens officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Care Center Visiting Nurse Service.
