Ken proudly served as an Aerospace Maintenance Craftsman in the United States Air Force, a role in which he demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism. His military career was distinguished by numerous honors, including the Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with one device, the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four devices, the NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, the Air Force Training Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Air Force Volunteer Service Medal. These awards stand as a testament to Ken's unwavering devotion and sacrifice in service to his nation.
Born into the family of Edward R. Gast and Eleanore {Ormsby} Gast, Ken was preceded in death by his parents, longtime partner Christina L. Weitzel, his brother Edward Richard Gast, and his brother-in-law Bill Pratt. He is survived by his sister, Elaine Pratt and his niece, Julie, who cherish his memory dearly, as well as his loving and faithful dog, Betty.
