Keith A. Stokes slipped away on July 24, 2014.
Preceded in death by his mother, Judy Hoover; father, Ron Stokes; and brother, Greg. He leaves to cherish the memories his "spoiled him rotten" wife, Wendy; children, Keith, Jr. (Danielle), Brook (Jerry) James, Angie (Bob), Alayna (Kevin); grandchildren, Taylor, Brenyn, Owen, Abby, Ty, Breanna, Christian, Samara, Madison, Ty, Buzz, James, Jr.; and other loving family members.
He was one of a kind. He recently retired from Parker Hannifin after 37 years, where he had many friends who became our extended family. He and Wendy had a lot of miles on them travelling to Colorado or just down an old dirt road in Amish country. With his distinctive handlebar mustache, they couldn't go too many places that someone didn't know him. He liked to collect miniature tractors and go fishing with his buddy "Mophead" at Wingfoot. For many years, he just enjoyed hanging out in his garage with his many friends having a few beers listening to old music and arguing who sang it or really just about anything. He was always more than willing to lend a hand or just shoot the bull. He was a very fortunate man for he was blessed by knowing how many people love and care for him. If love and tears could have healed him, he would be in his garage drinking with his buddies. He will be missed by so many. Thanks to the many people at Parker Hannifin for their overwhelming support and prayers during this journey to his final destination.
In honor of his strength and amazing battle with pancreatic cancer, visitation will be Saturday, 1-3 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service immediately following at 3 p.m.
