Kathleen Alice McGee

Kathleen Alice McGee, 72, of Akron, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2026.

Kathy was born in Akron, Ohio on August 28, 1953 to the late Willie and Rita Marcum. She graduated from Central Hower High School before embarking on a lifetime of service to others through employment at Summit County Childrens Services and as a caregiver for disabled adults.

Kathy's faith carried her through many difficult times in her life. She enjoyed attending services at St. Mary Catholic Church in Akron.

Her family meant everything to her. She was especially excited to become "Mee-Maw" to her beloved grandson, Logan. She loved spending time with him and watching him grow.

Some of Kathy's favorite memories were big family dinners at her mother's home on Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also had fond memories of a mother/daughter trip to Mexico with her daughter, Allison and she always made time for encouraging chats with her son, Christopher.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother and best friend, Rita Marcum; father, Willie Marcum; and brother, Richard Marcum.

Kathy will be dearly missed by her children, Allison McGee and Christopher McGee and their father, Roger McGee; grandson, Logan McGee; brothers, Dale (Linda) Marcum and John Marcum; and many other special relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church 750 S. Main St. Akron, OH 44311 with a service to follow at 12:00 PM.
