Katherine (Perich) Arapp "Baba"

Katherine Arapp, 85, of Akron, passed away September 2, 2012 and is now enjoying a happy reunion with her husband, Anthony; grandson, Eric; and great-granddaughter, Aubrie. She was born in Akron on October 31, 1926 to Nikalais and Mara Peric. Katherine was preceded in death by seventeen siblings.
Katherine was a child-like soul who loved hummingbirds, flowers, family, playing games, good food, and her pets, Brent and Spanky. We will miss her smile and cherish the love she instilled in all of us.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Christine (Rich) Austin, Cheryl (Dave) Ruegg, and Anthony Arapp, all of Akron; grandchildren, Allison (Jake) Ketterman and son, Aiden, Ben (Jenny) Austin, Jason (Melissa) Ruegg and daughters, Morgan and Maggie, Ryan Ruegg, Aaron (Rachel) Ruegg and Brennan Ruegg, Kristen Arapp and son, Luke, Anthony James Arapp and daughter, Kamrynn; brothers-in-law, Bozidar Simich and Merle Boll Sr.; sisters-in-law, Ruth Perich, and Doris Perich; and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Katherine's family wishes to thank the staffs at Hospice of Summa, Summa of Western Reserve, and her friend and caregiver, Kathy for all their devotion.
Family and friends may call on Thursday September 6 from 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Shaub officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
