June M. Kapas

June Marilyn Kapas, 88, of Akron, passed away on June 10, 2026.

She was born on December 28, 1937 to John and Effie (Hughes) Roberts in Athens, TN.

She was married to James Kapas and together they lived in Akron, Ohio.

She loved to spend time with her family, going out to eat, and bingo. She loved to travel and shop.

June is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly R. Somerville; son, Michael (Dawn)Kapas; grandchildren, Sean (Taylor) and Cody (Megan) Somerville, Mikey (Missy) Kapas, Mathew (Joy) Kapas, Amber (Pete) James, Nick Kapas, and Christy (Steve) Miller; great-grandchildren, Kierstin, Stephen, Austin, Alex, Abigail, Colton, Haleigh, Kaleigh, Lakelyn, Lowen, Charlotte, and Emery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, Timothy J. Kapas; and parents, John and Effie Roberts.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, 1:30 pm at the Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
