Julie Ann Leeser, 73, of Akron, was suddenly called home to the waiting arms of Jesus on November 28, 2017. Julie was born in Akron, Ohio on February 3, 1944 to the late Thomas and Edna Judge. She graduated from St. Vincent High School (1962) and then received her teaching degree from the University of Akron. Julie raised her five children at home. Later she worked for Yoder Brothers and pursued her career in teaching. She taught at St. Anthony's, St Vincent Elementary and the Akron Public Schools working at Reidinger Middle School for many years. After retiring from teaching, she worked for Akron at the Recreational Bureau in Goodyear Heights where she loved doing crafts and art with the children. She had a passion for life and a desire to spend her weekends living them to the fullest with her spouse Gene. Her greatest passion were her grandchildren that she loved so dearly and unconditionally. Julie held a deep faith and was greatly honored and humbled to help train teachers in India through missionary programs at The Chapel. She was always on the move, either with her Red Hat group, volunteering at the Akron Civic Theater or at the voting polls, spending time with her many friends and enjoying music and dance. She always had a great sense of humor and made lifelong friends wherever she went leaving a lasting impression on all those that knew her.
