Listen to Obituary

Judy Lynn Harper, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed unexpectedly on December 15th, 2025, at the age of 75.

Judy was born on April 14th, 1950, in Akron, Ohio, to John and Margaret (Good) Cooper. She was a 1969 graduate of Mogadore High School and married Larry Harper in 1971. They later moved to Colorado with their two children. While living in Colorado, Judy worked at the Grand Junction ARC and later at the City of Fruita as their Utility Billing, Payroll, and Accounting Technician. She participated in the Fruita Chamber of Commerce, was a Lioness with the Fruita Lioness/Lions Club, and a troop leader for the local Brownies and Girl Scout Troop. She enjoyed camping and riding 4-wheelers in the desert, going to the mountains, and sharing time with her family and friends. Many years later, Judy returned to Ohio with her family where she worked for The Blick Center for several years before retiring.

Judy lived a life defined by love, generosity, and quiet strength. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, always putting others before herself and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.

Judy was known for her kindness, compassion, faith, resilience, sense of humor, and her scrumptious potato salad. She found joy in volunteering and supporting meaningful causes, researching and reading topics that were of interest to her, listening to music and dancing, playing games, yelling at the tv during football games and the occasional basketball game, bird watching, and admiring sunsets. She marveled watching the snow fall – always commenting on how peaceful it was. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, and she had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for. Above all, she was an unsurpassed mother and wife, always demonstrating unwavering love, strength, and faithfulness.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Harper; daughter Jennifer, and son-in-law, Jason Lopez; brother Johnny (Jo) Cooper; sister Cindy (Tom) McKenzie; sister Becky (Rick) Fatica; brother Kenny (Annette) Cooper; brother Jeff Cooper; many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews; and her dearest friend and Colorado neighbor, Vicki “Vickster” Upson, who will forever cherish her and the countless memories they shared.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret “Maggie” (Good) Cooper, and her son, Destry Harper.

Though her absence leaves a profound emptiness, Judy’s love will continue to guide and comfort all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she held together with grace and devotion.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. To share a memory of Judy or leave a special message for her family, visit the guest book below.
