Judith L. Thompson

Judith "Judy" Lynn Thompson, age 76, of Akron, entered into the presence of her savior Christ Jesus, peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on July 16, 2025 at Akron City Hospital. She was born on November 15, 1948 to Joseph and Mary Boarman in Akron, Ohio.

Judy’s life was a testimony to the grace, love, and salvation found in Christ Jesus. She walked each day with a quiet strength and unwavering faith, always pointing others toward the hope she held in her heart — the assurance of eternal life through the redeeming love of her Lord and Savior. Because of this blessed assurance, we rejoice in knowing that Judy now rests in the arms of Jesus, free from pain and filled with joy everlasting.

Judy is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Jerry; children, Jason (Melissa) Thompson, Jerry (Daniella) Lee Thompson II, Jamie (Zoe) Leveque, Lisa (Chris) Gallagher and Jerry Osborne; daughter in law, Rachel Thompson; grandchildren, Haven, Trinity, Josiah, Jubilee, Kelsey, Erin and Patrick; sister, Donna Boarman; sister in law, Brenda Boarman; niece, Denise; nephew, Rob; and special friend, Jonie Lanum; as well as other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Boarman; and brother, Gary (Brenda) Boarman.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 12pm until 1pm. Her memorial service will begin at 1pm with Pastor Mark O’Donnell officiating. Visitation and service to take place at Community Baptist Temple (1435 Kelly Ave, Akron OH 44306).

Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate Judy’s life — a life well-lived, anchored in faith, and marked by grace. We look forward with hope to the day when we will be reunited in glory, as promised by the One who conquered death and gives us eternal life.
