Joyce Lea Barnett (nee Bickler)
Joyce was born on November 14, 1945 in Akron, OH. She went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2012, surrounded by her friends and family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Bickler and her mother, Maxine Williams. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul "Bud" Barnett; her sister, Shirley Doney; daughters, Jodi Wood and Jennifer Pietzcker; step-children, Susan, Paula, and Paul; grandchildren, Matthew, Marisa, Katelynn, Maxwell, Stefanie, Cindy, Derek, and Paul, Jr.; and several great-grandchildren. After 25 years of service at Go-Jo Industries, she enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends. Instead of choosing full retirement, she devoted time as a caregiver for the elderly, for whom she provided loving care, as well as being an active member of Firestone Park Christian Church. She will be remembered as a devoted loving mother, a hard worker, and a trusted friend. She will be greatly missed. Joy was a joy to have in their lives. A memorial service will be held on Monday, 11 a.m., at Firestone Park Christian Church, 40 E. Wilbeth Rd., Akron, OH 44301.
