February 29, 1948 — April 1, 2025

Joyce D. Keys, a cherished member of her family and a beloved friend to many, passed away on April 1, 2025, in Akron, Ohio in the comfort of her home. Born on February 29, 1948, in Beverly, West Virginia, Joyce brought joy and love to everyone she encountered during her remarkable life.

Joyce was a dedicated wife to William Keys Jr., with whom she celebrated 57 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and laughter, fostering a deep sense of togetherness that touched the lives of all who visited. Joyce was a proud mother to William III (Jennifer) Keys and Michael Keys; her love for her children was boundless and unwavering. However, it was her grandchildren, Wyatt Keys and Destiny (Bryce) Keys, who truly held a special place in her heart. Joyce's pride in her family was palpable, as she often reminisced about their achievements and milestones, basking in the glow of their happiness.

Joyce had many interests that brought her joy throughout her life. An excellent cook and baker, she found delight in preparing meals and sweet treats, often showcasing her skills during family gatherings, particularly at Christmas, which was her favorite time of year. Her love for the festive season was evident in the way she decorated her home and gathered her family around for celebrations filled with love and good food. Joyce also enjoyed the thrill of gambling at casinos, where she spent many spirited evenings trying her luck and sharing laughter with friends and fellow enthusiasts.

In addition to her immediate family, Joyce is survived by her brothers, Richard Daniels and James Ferri, as well as her sister-in-law, Karen Daniels, and brother-in-law, Thomas (Tracy) Keys. Their bond was one of strength and support, highlighting the importance of family unity during both joyful and challenging times. Joyce's legacy will also be honored by numerous other relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to experience her kindness and generosity.

Preceding her in death were her loving parents, Alfred and Ruby Daniels, and her brother, Alfred Daniels Jr. They welcomed Joyce into their heavenly home, where she now watches over her beloved family with the same love and pride that she embodied in life.

Joyce D. Keys will forever be remembered as a beacon of love, joy, and resilience. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her memory will remain etched in the hearts of her family and friends. As they reflect on the countless memories shared with her, they will carry forward her legacy of love and passion for life.
