Joseph William Howland, 57, went to be with the Lord suddenly on January 22, 2014. He was born in Akron on October 5, 1956 to William and Mary Howland. He served as a pastor and devoted his life to Jesus. He will always be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. Joe was a Teamster with Local 348. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, William. He is survived by his mother, Mary Paisley; children, Andrew Howland and Sara Newman; brother, Michael (Michelle) Howland; and grandson, Finn Newman.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1 from 3 - 5 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron followed by a memorial service at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude's Hospital, a charity close to Joe's heart.
