Joseph Peter Rodriques

April 10, 1953 — May 8, 2025

Joseph Peter Rodriques, departed this life on May 8, 2025, in his beloved Canton, Ohio, at the age of 72. Born on April 10, 1953, he grew from a spirited child into a man who would leave an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

Joseph was a master of many trades. As an automobile mechanic, he embodied the spirit of a "Mr. fix-it," always ready to tackle any problem—no engine too stubborn, no car too old. His affection for working on cars was rivaled only by his career as a truck driver, where he traversed the open roads, relishing the freedom and adventure with the hum of the engine as his trusty companion. Beyond his practical skills, Joseph served his country honorably as a dedicated Army Veteran during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that instilled a sense of discipline and duty that he carried throughout his years.

At home, Joseph was enveloped in the warmth of loving relationships. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Tina Rodriques, who stood by him through the tests of time. Together, they cultivated a life rich with love and support. His legacy is further carried on by his cherished daughter Cathi (Jack Underwood) Rodriques, along with his adored grandchildren: Ashley Kinsinger, Jessica Smith, Josephine “Jo Jo” Rodriques, and Cheyene Rodriques, who remember him as the best grandfather one could ever hope for. Joseph's love for his family knew no bounds and was his proudest accomplishment. He delighted in their milestones and shared every laugh, value, and life lesson with unwavering devotion.

Joseph's spirit shone brightly in his everyday life. He approached each day with faith in God as his compass, a guiding light that led him to be the supportive figure for his siblings—John (Phyllis), Danny, Mike (Pam), Ricky Rodriques, Tina Anderson, and Joao "John" Rodriques. He fostered an unbreakable bond with them all, bringing joy and laughter to family gatherings and cherished memories that will forever echo through generations. Having many nieces and nephews also enriched his life, each of them touched by his generosity and kindness.

Passionate about the outdoors, Joseph found solace in the art of fishing, spending serene afternoons absorbing nature's beauty as he cast lines into tranquil waters. He extended that love to his canine companions, showering them with affection that mirrored his love for family. In a world sometimes fraught with complications, he remained a simple man at heart, finding joy in small pleasures and the embrace of those he loved.

Joseph's parents, John and Catherine Rodriques, along with his granddaughter Britney Kinsinger, welcomed him joyfully into the afterlife—a family reunion long awaited, where laughter and love are boundless. His legacy continues to resonate deeply, a reminder of a life well-lived, rich in love, faith, and dedication.

As we hold Joseph Peter Rodriques in our memories, may we carry forward the lessons he taught us through his actions: the importance of family, the joy in service, and the unwavering belief that faith can light even the darkest paths.
