Joseph H. Smith

Joseph H. Smith, 82, went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2015. He was born, raised and a proud lifetime resident of Lakemore, OH. He served in the US Air Force for 4 years. Joseph retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 44 years of service. He was a councilman in Lakemore for 2 terms. Joe was preceded in death by parents, Ira D and Genevieve Smith, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Jodi (James) Johnston; granddaughters, Jessica and Jennifer; wife, Willa Dean; children; Doug (Kathy) Sheeler, Suzanne (Todd) Rogers, Jeffrey (Kim) Sheeler, Michele (Derek Murray) Rosser, Janeen (Paul) Stepler; grandchildren, Carson, Kenny, John, Daelynn, Dylan, Elona, Michala, Alexis, Wesley; great-grandson, Kenny Jr., and a host of nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Saturday February 7, 2015 from11-1pm with the funeral service immediately following at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305.
