John W. "Jack" Taylor
John W. "Jack" Taylor, 68, of Akron, passed away May 5, 2015. He was born in Akron on September 13, 1946 to the late John and Frances Taylor. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and retired from the City of Akron. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and reading. He loved animals and gave a home to many strays over the years. Everyone who knew Jack will remember his kind and compassionate spirit. He made friends easily and will be truly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Taylor; and his wife, Linda Taylor. He is survived by his son, Brian Taylor of Akron; sisters, Margaret (William) Beatty of Oracle, AZ and Geraldine (Robert) Coffman of Akron; grandchildren, Austin and Megan Taylor of St. Louis, MO; dear friend, Pam Gardner; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio SPCA, PO Box 546, Grove City, OH 43123.
