John E. Turnure Jr.

John E. Turnure Jr., 80, of Tallmadge, passed away on January 25, 2026. He was born on November 24, 1945 in Suffern, New York to the late John and Frances Turnure.

John's family relocated to New Jersey where he graduated from Mahwah High School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1965 and proudly served in the Vietnam War. His years as a sales manager with DeGussa Corporation took him to Pennsylvania and eventually Ohio, where he retired in 2008.

John was a dedicated father to his six children. He supported them in all their activities and was proud of all their achievements. For years, the family vacationed every summer in Long Beach Island, making unforgettable memories.

In his free time, John enjoyed quiet afternoons fishing or working in his garden. He also had a talent for working on cars and carpentry. His family benefited from his expertise. He took immense pride in the decks, furniture and other items he built for loved ones. These items will always be treasured.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Meredith Shay-Bourles and Christopher Shay.

John is survived by his loving children, Jaimie Turnure (James Hilliard), Michelle (John) Farrell, John D. Turnure, Daniel Turnure (Constance Bagiano), and Taylor (Korey) Leonhard; son-in-law, Stephane Bourles; sister, Judi Job; grandchildren, Alex Richards, Payton Hilliard, Nick Turnure, Emma Bourles, Gabby Bourles, Alyssa Turnure, Jack Leonhard, Reese Leonhard, Maverick Farrell, Makenna Bagiano and Carter Bagiano.

A committal service with military honors will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 12:45 pm at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, OH 44273.
