John is survived by his children, Catherine Spitler, Angela (Dan) Smith, Theresa St. George, Karen St. George, Aimee (David) Merendino; grandchildren, Corey, Amanda, Katie, Abby, Mel, Alex, Danny, Kelsey, David, Nikki, Heather, Jeremy, Justin, Trisha, Jenny, Brandin, Jessica, Sam, Ben, Kara, Noah; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Reilly, Hannah, Autumn, Daniel, Everett, Meadow, Lee, Aubrey, Logan, Jackson, Jacob, Jillian, Ava, Theo and Felix.
As a young man, John was a student of the Martial Arts. He worked very hard to become a black belt in Karate and even owned his own dojo for a time. He loved to share his passion for Karate, Tai Chi and Jujitsu with others.
He worked as a salesman for years, first at Lucky Shoes, where he met his wife Patricia, as she brought her kids in for shoes. He couldn't resist asking her to lunch one day. They were married for 54 wonderful years as they raised their 6 children in their loving home.
John also worked at IBM, Xerox Corp and a few other small businesses in the Akron area before opening up his own small business in 1984, called St. George & Co. John was well known for the epic St. George & Co. Christmas parties, where he would celebrate his successes with his wife and family. He worked tirelessly alongside Patricia to build a successful business, until he retired in 2006.
John loved to travel with his wife to places all over the world, experiencing different cultures, great food and wines. Their family finds comfort in the knowledge that they are celebrating their reunion, and dancing together into eternity.
Per John's wishes, cremation has taken place, and he will be laid to rest with Patricia at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville. To leave a special message for John's family, please visit the guest book below.
