John F. Malcomb, 69, passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2026 with family by his side. Born in Akron, Ohio, he was a lifelong area resident. He retired from the USPS with over 30 years of service and was a longtime blood donor, proudly donating over 10 gallons. John loved his dogs and always enjoyed being outdoors, spending summers at Friendship Acres Campground and spending time with his family, neighbors and friends.
John was a great friend to all and always welcomed strangers at his table for a drink and some hearty laughs. He has positively impacted many people over the years and will continue to do so in spirit.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Dorothy Malcomb; sister, Patricia (Malcomb) Miller. He will be greatly missed by his only daughter, Morgan (Thomas) Curenton; grandchildren, Aubrie, TJ Thomas, Kailee, Riley; sisters, Peg (Bill) King, Jerri (Mike) Uhlrig; close nephew, Robert Warman (Tina); several other nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and great nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, June 12, 2026 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Neweomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
