He graduated from Struthers High School before continuing his education at Youngstown State University where he earned his bachelor's degree in Graphic Design.
John truly enjoyed his work as a graphic designer and worked most recently for TCT Network. He also enjoyed volunteering in his free time. John loved nature, all animals, science fiction and using his creative abilities to design unique art. He was an avid Bengals fan. In his younger years, he trained in Taekwondo.
John was a firm believer in Christ and loved life to the fullest. He loved family gatherings which could include watching movies, having game nights and campfires; and most of all, John loved to make everyone smile and laugh with his unique sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his loving siblings, Joe (Elaine) Hempstead, Catherine Farkas (Alan Stuart), Stephen Hempstead, Darlene Hempstead (Jeff Bucher), David Hempstead and Bonnie (Ron) Dycman; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as his cat, Mr. Whiskers.
