John Clayton Morrison
John Clayton Morrison, 73, of Akron, passed away on August 17, 2015. He was born in Youngstown on November 20, 1941 to the late Joseph and Virginia Morrison. John proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and later retired from Hoovestol Trucking.
In his free time, he loved piloting airplanes and helicopters. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Mary Lou Oschenbein.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 30 years, Grace; daughters, Susan (Daniel) Guernsey, Julie (Robert) Korte, and April Morrison; stepchildren, Leslie Slater, William (Nancy) Slater, Kathy Gower, and Phillip Slater; grandchildren, Eric, Sarah, Matt (Candra), Luke, Timothy, Brittney, Jordan, and Robert Carl; four stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend, Bob Wallizer.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Debbie Oschenbein officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
