Joann Keener

Joann Keener, age 80 of Akron passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. A lifelong resident of Akron, Joann was born on December 4, 1941 to the late Jessie McLaughlin.

Joann will always be loved and dearly missed by her husband of 59 years, Gene; children Cyndie, Todd (Sherri) and Susie (John); grandchildren Jeff, Rachel, Taylor, Morgan (Blake), Madison, Lizzie; great-grandchildren Dallas, Mason and Atlee; extended family members and friends.

Joann's kind and generous spirit enriched her life in many ways, from raising her family, to volunteering with many organizations, being involved in the school PTA and participating in her Bible Study for over 37 years. She loved to travel with Gene, spending winters in southern Arizona.

All are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Tuesday, July 26 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral ceremony begins at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, where Joann will be laid to rest.
