Jo-Ann M. Sietz

Jo-Ann M. Sietz, 79, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026. Born in Akron, Ohio to Joseph and Annabelle (Byrnes) Derwort, she was a lifelong area resident. Jo-Ann graduated from Ellet High School and later retired from US Bank, where she worked in banking for 40 years. She enjoyed gardening and playing in the dirt as well as spending time with her family, which was everything to her.

In addition to her parents, Jo-Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Sietz; partner, John Michael. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Kimberly Minear, Christine Shreve (Donnie), and bonus children Kim Broadhurst, Keith Michael (Kristine); grandchildren, Sara Shreve (Michael), Taylor Minear (Xzavier), Annabelle Carpenter (Patrick); great grandsons, Soren, Jaxon, Ezra; brothers, Dick Derwort (Becky), Dave (Cindy) Derwort; nieces and nephews, Rachelle Harper (Dave), Seth Derwort; Landon, Elli.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. A Memorial Mass will take place Monday, August 24 at 11 a.m at St. Matthew Church.
