Jimmie G. Schroeder, 74, of Akron, passed away on July 20, 2015. He was born in Sedan, Kansas on July 21, 1940 to the late James and Doris Schroeder. Jimmie proudly served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne, retiring in 1992. He then went on to another long successful career in the automobile industry. Jimmie loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, and bowling. He loved his dog Elvis and his cat Socks.
In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his brother, Phil Schroeder and parents-in-law, Jack and Martha Faulkner. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of over 50 years, Carol; sons, Rick (Michelle), Tim (Andrea), and Jack (Christy Flynn); grandchildren, Erica (Matt) Davis, Deanna, Drew, Kyle, and Jack Schroeder.
Family and friends may call on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 noon. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors provided by Firestone VFW 3383.
