Jerry W. Martin, 56, of Akron, passed away suddenly March 4, 2014. He was born in Akron, Ohio on October 1, 1957 to Eugene Martin and Dolores Maxfield. Jerry was a loving and thoughtful son and brother.
He enjoyed making people laugh and telling stories about his youth. It always started out with, "Back in the day..." Jerry would always 'check in' with his elderly neighbors and help them with anything they needed. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Martin; stepfather, Robert Maxfield, sister Mary Coleman; niece Ashley Rankin and her infant son Zenith Isaiah Pullam.
He is survived by mother Dolores Maxfield; sons, Matthew and Chris Martin; sisters, Melinda Beatty, Bonnie (Charles) Burchett, and Kay (Mike Reed) Hopkins; niece and best friend; Gen Houseworth; friend, Adam Mitchell; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
