Jerry W. Cook, 70, passed away on February 20, 2015.
He was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple and served with the National Guard for four years. Jerry retired from East Ohio Gas after 30 years of service. He loved fishing, the Cleveland Browns, and all sports.
Preceded in death by his father, Willard "Guy". Survivors include his mother, Leta; son, Bert (Dayla); grandson, Evan; brother, Roger (Judy); step-children, Eric, Monica, Dawnita, and Paula; nieces, Robin and Jill; and the love of his life, his partner, Dianne.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
