Jerry Raker

Jerry Raker, 79, of Akron, passed away on December 25, 2025 after a length illness. Jerry was born on December 5, 1946 in Wadsworth, Ohio. He graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1966. After high school, he served his country in the US Marines during the Vietnam War.

Jerry loved to sing and dance. In his younger years, he was a loyal member of the Derbytown Chorus and also taught dance lessons for the Arthur Murray Dance Studios.

Jerry was a hairstylist by trade and had many loyal followers through the years and only recently retired.

Jerry is survived by his twin brother, Jim (Marlene); sister, Mona; sister-in-law, Judy; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Anne; and brother, Bill.

Jerry will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
