Jerry R. Chadima

Jerry R. Chadima, a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, departed this world on Friday December 19, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving behind a legacy infused with laughter, love, and a passion for life that echoed in the hearts of all who knew him. Born on November 25, 1960, in Akron, Ohio, Jerry embraced his surroundings, laying the foundation for a life filled with rich experiences and lasting memories.

From his early years, Jerry was a spirited athlete, attending Revere High School where he showcased his talents as a wrestler, runner, and a musician, playing the coronet and trumpet in the marching band. His zest for knowledge led him to pursue certifications in underwater welding and emergency medical technician practices, embodying his enduring desire to serve and help those around him.

Jerry's professional life found its mark in masonry with the Rich Denlinger Company, where his attention to detail and craft contributed to creating lasting structures. Yet, it was not only in his career that he made an imprint: Jerry’s home was a sanctuary of warmth, where the aroma of his culinary creations wafted through the air, as he loved to cook and share meals with his family, fostering bonds over the table that would nourish not just the body but the soul.

He was a man of the outdoors — a scuba diver, fisherman, hunter, and hiker, Jerry relished every opportunity to explore the beauty of nature. When younger, Jerry’s adventurous spirit also led him to race motorcycles in the circuit for Team Maybe, thrilling in the rush of the ride and the camaraderie of fellow racers. Friends described him as having a good sense of humor, being beyond silly, and always willing to lend a helping hand when anyone was in need.

Jerry's life was punctuated by the love for his family. He is remembered fondly by his daughter, Sairah Chadima, and his son, Aaron Chadima, who carry forward the torch of his spirit. His joy was amplified in the laughter of his granddaughter, Kelly-Ann Shrigley. The warmth of his bond is further reflected in the closeness he shared with his siblings—Becky (Mike) Tellalian, Lisa Chadima, Julie (Bob) Andrews, and Crystal Chadima—as well as his nieces and nephews: Ronnie (Megan) Tellalian, Bobby Andrews, Michael Chadima, Joseph, and Stephanie Misock. Many great-nieces and nephews, along with a wide circle of relatives and friends, are inspired by his memory and continue to share in the light he so generously gave to others.

Jerry is preceded in death by his cherished parents, Jerry and Waleah Chadima, and his brother, Ronnie Chadima. Their everlasting presence remains embedded in the stories and love stories told in memory of him.

As we gather to commemorate his life, visitation will take place on December 31, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron, Ohio. A funeral service will begin promptly at 12:30 PM. Final resting place is Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Peninsula, Ohio.
