Jerry Legg

It is with great sadness Gerald (Jerry) Legg Jr. unexpectedly went to be with the Lord April 24th, 2025. He was born October 25th, 1958 in Akron, Ohio to Carolyn Frye and Gerald Legg Sr. Gerald was a veteran in the United States Army. He was a “jack of all trades” as he would say who enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Those who knew him would say he was real, authentic and a judge of no one.

Gerald leaves behind his son Harrison Gifford; sisters Sheryl Morgan, Janene (Keith) Mcquain; brother Daniel (Kimberly) Legg; nieces Nicholle (Norm) Arman, Jessica Legg; nephews Jason (Katie) Legg, Keith (Ali) Mcquain, Kevin Mcquain; great nieces and nephews; friend turned family Antoine Combs; as well as many other friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Gerald Legg Sr,; mother Carolyn Frye; step father Clyde Frye; sister Lynda Stanley; and niece Kara Stanley.

He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle and friend. His passing will leave a void in the hearts left to cherish his memory and will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held Wednesday May 7th, 2025 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd; Akron) where services will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Bernard Christy officiating.

Interment at Hillside Memorial Park immediately following.
