Jerry Kelley

Jerry "Steve" Kelley, 68, passed away quietly on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at his home in Akron with his family. He was born on April 28, 1945 in Hiawassee, Georgia to the late Frank Kelley and Ora Kelley-Sayre. Steve always maintained an active lifestyle as a marathon runner and a martial artist. He served as an Akron firefighter until 1986 following severe injuries sustained on duty. Steve was founder and former owner of Polar Products, Inc. and later formed AF Moving, Inc. aka 'Firefighters Moving'. His 3 sons will be honored to carry on the family business and fulfill their father's dreams and goals.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Forrest and Morris; and sister, Joan. He is survived by his sons, Stephen, David and Brian; grandchildren, Trevor, Tori, Ivanah and Ronin; and many other relatives and friends.

Friends and family may call 2-5 pm on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family or Summit County Bluecoat Society, 2060 Nimisilia Rd., Clinton, OH 44216.
