Jerry F. Morrison "Grumpy" "Jer Bear"
Jerry F. Morrison, 74, passed away on October 9, 2012, at home with family and loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Akron, he lived in the area his entire life. Jerry retired as a foreman after 44 years of service at Ferriot Brothers.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen; sister, Shirley Dodds; brothers, Skip, Jack, Bob and Bill; and former wife and friend, Virginia. He is survived by son, Timothy (Lucy), of Springfield Twp.; daughter, Kelly (Bryan) Huber, of Hartville; and son, Jerry (Kelly), of Arkansas; grandchildren, Zachary Morrison, Danielle and Tyler Huber, Nikki (Addison) Roberts, Gene and Sean Williams; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kennadee, and Addison Roberts.
Calling hours will be Friday, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m., with Pastor Francel James Parker officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
Jerry's family would like to thank Patty Latham and Chris Peters of VNS Hospice, and neighbors, Danielle, Tyler and Brittany for all the love and support given to Jerry during his illness.
